Softball Defeats Regis On Final Day of Spring Break Trip
KISSIMMEE, FL -- Blackburn College Softball finished their spring break trip to Florida Friday by splitting their two matchups as they defeated Regis College 7-4 but fell to Haverford College 4-1.

Clermont, FL -- Blackburn College Softball finished their spring break trip to Florida Friday by splitting their two matchups as they defeated Regis College 7-4 but fell to Haverford College 4-1.
Junior Kenadee Frey, sophomore Mailee Schoen, and freshman Kharma Giles led the Beavers with four hits each on the day. Schoen also posted a team-best four runs batted in and a double while Frey posted a double, a home run, two rbi's and scored three runs. Giles added two doubles.
Freshman Tayor Weber threw four strikeouts in five scoreless innings.
Blackburn faced a 4-0 deficit when Frey opened the bottom of the fourth inning with her third home run of the season. Senior Caroline Gibson added a second run by getting on base with a single and scoring off freshman Taryn Millburg's sacrifice fly.
The Beavers took a lead in the fifth. Senior Shelby Koenig started the inning with a walk followed by senior Kailynn Kruep's single. Frey hit a single to score Koenig and then Kruep and Frey scored off Schoen's single. Giles soon followed with another single to score Schoen and put the Beavers ahead 6-2.
Kruep added an insurance run in the sixth by scoring off another single by Schoen for the final run of the game and give BC the 7-2 victory.
Against Haverford, Frey scored the team's lone run by scoring on a double from Schoen in the sixth inning. However, BC was unable to capture victory as they fell 4-1.
Blackburn ends their trip at 8-6 on the season and will enjoy a week from action before heading to Wheaton University on Saturday, March 21.
