Beaver Wrestling Competes at Missouri Baptist Dr. Tom Smith Open
ST. LOUIS, MO — Blackburn College Wrestling competed this past Sunday at Missouri Baptist University’s Annual Dr. Tom Smith Open, facing a deep and competitive field that featured wrestlers from all collegiate divisions, including NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA programs.

The Beavers fought hard throughout the tournament, showing growth and toughness against experienced competition in one of the region's strongest open events of the season. At 184 pounds, Keaton Wilhelm wrestled with confidence and physicality throughout the day, putting together a strong performance against high-level opponents. In the heavyweight division, Remington Hiser stood out with two dominant victories in a loaded field, showcasing significant progress in recent weeks.
Head Coach Tim McGuire was encouraged by the team's development and competitive approach.
"Our guys competed hard today. We definitely made big improvements in how we compete and learned a lot," said McGuire. "The guys took advantage of this tournament and found ways to get better. Remington Hiser has been making huge strides in practice, and that showed up today in his matches."
