The Beavers battled through the opening weights, with several matches decided by bonus points, but stayed composed and continued to compete deep into the lineup. Blackburn began to turn the momentum at 149 pounds, where Gaven Vollintine picked up a forfeit win to get the Beavers on the board.
Blackburn capitalized in the upper weights, as Keaton Wilhelm (184) and Devin Hansel (197) each earned forfeit victories, tightening the team score and keeping the dual within striking distance heading into heavyweight.
Needing a strong finish, Remington Hiser delivered in dominant fashion at 285 pounds, pinning Westminster's heavyweight in 1:42 and adding six more points for Blackburn.
Despite the final result, Blackburn showed toughness, resilience, and growth across the lineup. The Beavers fought until the final whistle and demonstrated the depth and determination that will continue to drive the program forward.

Coach McGuire says "We have a good team and they are making huge steps every day in the practice room. We just need to compete better. We still need to show people how well we really wrestle."
Blackburn Wrestling is back in action on the road in River Grove Illinois at Trition College for the Art Kraft Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
