Austin Brand Joins Blackburn Men's Wrestling Staff

CARLINVILLE, ILL. – Blackburn College Men's Wrestling Team Announces Addition of Austin Brand to Staff.

We are excited to announce the addition of Austin Brand to our staff. Austin brings extensive knowledge of Central Illinois wrestling. He was a standout high school wrestler at Olympia High School and a college athlete at Rend Lake College.

Coach Brand has coached numerous state qualifiers and state medalists throughout his involvement with local wrestling clubs. He works full-time at the maximum-security prison in Lincoln, Illinois. Also joining the Blackburn wrestling family are his wife and two kids, both of whom are wrestlers.

Head Coach Tim McQuire says, "Coach Brand is a great fit for our Blackburn program and will have a significant impact on the development of our wrestlers. He is extremely passionate about wrestling and each individual wrestler on the team. He sees the best in our guys and is fully invested in helping them reach their fullest potential. I am personally excited to work with Coach Brand. We have big goals and a lot of work to do. It's going to be fun."
