LOUISVILLE, IL -- The Blackburn College Softball season has come to a close after the Beavers fell to Greenville College in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals Friday afternoon.
The team reached the semifinals for the first time since 2012 after defeating Fontbonne University 1-0 on Tuesday.
During the game, sophomore Kenadee Frey led the team's offense against the Panthers.
The season finalizes with the team winning 18 games, the most since the 2012 season. Frey was named the leagues Player of the Year while senior Shelby Koenig set a likely school record with 136 strikeouts. Junior Caroline Gibson was also joined Frey and Koenig on the First Team All-SLIAC.
