Bio
RC Kirk enters his first season as Assistant Track and Field Coach dedicated to the
instruction and development of the Blackburn Track and Field throwers. He is also an Adjunct Professor for Blackburn College, having taught courses such as Psychology of Sport, Sport Sociology, Sport Ethics, and Business Ethics.
Kirk is a 2019 graduate of Millikin University where he competed in the shot put, discus, and hammer throws as well as the indoor 35lb weight toss, earning CCIW Academic All-Conference honors every year of his competitive career. While attending Millikin, Kirk served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Maroa-Forsyth High School football program, where he coached the freshman level offensive and defensive linemen, as well as the varsity defensive line specialists, designing strength and conditioning plans and directing sport-specific drills as well as taking part in pre-game strategy. Kirk was a part of two state runner-up teams in 2016 and 2018.
Kirk received his degree in Sport Management and Psychology in 2019.
Kirk is also a 2023 graduate of Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity degree with special attention paid to the area of Sport Ministry. While at Baylor, Kirk worked with the Baylor University Athletic Training staff for the Baylor Football 2021 Summer Workouts as well as contributing to the Baylor Faith
and Sports Institute.
Kirk is passionate about guiding athletes to be their best selves both in competition and in their larger lives.
