Beavers Take on Knights
CARLINVILLE, IL — The Blackburn Colleges Men's Basketball Team took on Spurgeon College Friday Night at home in a non-conference matchup. The Beavers battled hard but fell short to the Knights 98-85.
CARLINVILLE, IL — The Blackburn Colleges Men's Basketball Team took on Spurgeon College Friday Night at home in a non-conference matchup. The Beavers battled hard but fell short to the Knights 98-85.
Freshman Evan Jordan was the top scorer, rebounder and had the most assists for the team with 23 points, six rebounds and four assists. Freshman Jaylen Jeter added 18 points and Junior Kameron Carter chipped in scoring 13 points,they both chipped in with three assists and four rebounds each. Juniors Payton Cook and Kcion Welch both tied having the 2nd most rebounds with five each.
In the first half, the Knights started off scoring with a two pointer, taking the lead early. Spurgeon then held the lead for the rest of the first half, making the Beavers face a 51-41 deficit entering halftime.
In the second half, the knights took control and held the lead, making it hard for the Beavers to catch up, and secured Spurgeon a 98-85 win.
The Beavers will return to action Tuesday, November 25th as they travel to Eureka College for their SLIAC opener.
