Men's Basketball Collects Victory over Principia
CARLINVILLE, IL– The Blackburn College Men's Basketball team took on Principia College on Saturday at home in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action and used a strong team effort to capture the 66-56 victory.
CARLINVILLE, IL– The Blackburn College Men's Basketball team took on Principia College on Saturday at home in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action and used a strong team effort to capture the 66-56 victory.
Nick Cook led the Beavers with 13 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 50% from the field. Kameron Hanvey and Cameron Johnson both recorded 11 points to aid the effort. The Beavers controlled the game in the first half outscoring the Panthers 32-23. Ayson McLuskie went 2-2 from beyond the arc in the first half to help keep the Beavers ahead.
The Panthers came out battling in the second half and managed to make the game 49-48 with less than eight minutes remaining. Blackburn answered and rallied back to lead 55-48. The Panthers put up a late scare by making it 58-54 with 1:48 to go, but BC would close the door by finishing the game on an 8-2 run to collect the 66-56 win.
The Beavers return to action on Wednesday, January 29th as they travel to Fontbonne University for more SLIAC action.
