Men's Basketball Falls at Knox
GALESBURG, IL– The Blackburn College Men’s Basketball team traveled to take on Knox College on Saturday afternoon.
GALESBURG, IL– The Blackburn College Men's Basketball team traveled to take on Knox College on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers scored 52 points in the second half but were unable to overcome a slow start, falling to the Prairie Fire 84-80.
Junior Nick Cook led the Beavers with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Junior Tyson Johnson scored 14 points followed by Odis Grissom with 11. BC went bucket for bucket with the Prairie Fire for the first part of the first half but would struggle toward the end going down 42-28.
The Beavers came out hot with junior Cameron Johnson knocking down a three early in the half followed by Cook scoring four straight points. Blackburn fought back the whole second half and cut the deficit to a one-point game multiple times. However, the team was unable to get past that mark, ultimately falling 84-80.
The Beavers return to action Tuesday, November 26th when they host Eureka College in the team's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener.
