Peyton Blackburn Named SLIAC Pitcher of the Week

BELLEVILLE, IL -- Junior Peyton Blackburn was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the team's 10-0 victory over Principia Saturday afternoon. 

Blackburn helped guide the Beavers to victory by shutting down the Prinicipia offense as he threw seven shutout innings. During his appearance he threw eight strikeouts while allowing just three hits. His efforts led to his first career win at Blackburn as well. 

The team finished the week 2-1 highlighted by a 7-5 victory at Illinois Wesleyan University Tuesday evening followed by their first shutout since the 2022 season on Saturday over Principia in the team's final game of the season.
