Frey, McNeil earn Prairie Farms Athlete of the Week

CARLINVILLE, IL — Freshman Elexus Frey and sophomore Byron McNeil earned Prairie Farms Athlete of the Week honors.

Freshman Elexus Frey led the Beavers to a win over the Owls of MUW with a buzzer-beating three-pointer. She also recorded a career-high 20 points, making 11 of her 21 shots from beyond the arc. Additionally, she grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and recorded her first double-double with 16 points in the game against Lyon College. She averaged 18 points for the week.

Sophomore Byron McNeil, competing in the field events, recorded one of the top finishes of the meet for the Beavers, placing fourth out of 19 competitors in the men's triple jump. McNeil's performance came in a deep and competitive field.

The men's and women's basketball teams are back in the Beaver Dome on Thursday evening to face Spalding University. They will then hit the road to Fulton, Missouri, to take on Westminster. The Blackburn men's wrestling team is also on the road for the SLIAC Conference Championships.
