The Blackburn Beavers Men's Basketball Team dropped a tough home conference game against the Principia Panthers by the score of 77-74 on Saturday Evening in Carlinville.
The Beavers and the Panthers were evenly matched in the first half of the game. Both teams spent time with the lead. DeAndre Manuel led the beavers in the first half with 9 points while the Panther's Parker Davidson had 11 in the first half including a pair of three pointers.
The Second half seemed to be in the Beavers favor as they got the lead up to nine at one point in the 14 minute mark of the second half. The second half surge for the Panthers was led by Adaku Anumu.
The game came down to the wire as Adaku Anumu hit a step back three pointer with 15 seconds remaining to give the Panthers a 77-74 lead. The Beavers came down and got a shot at the buzzer but It did not go for the Beavers.
Chris Davis and DeAndre Manuel both finished with 19 points for the Beavers. Parker Davidson led the Panthers with 19.
The Beavers are back in action on Wednesday as they take on Westminister at 7:00pm in Carlinville.
