Stepp Named Conference Pitcher of the Week

Blackburn College Sophomore Left-handed pitcher Jonathan “Bubby” Stepp of Georgetown, Texas, has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 26.  Stepp fired the first no-hitter in Blackburn College history with a 7-0 win over Eureka College on Friday in Eureka.  Stepp allowed just three base runners however he picked one off and induced two double plays to face the minimum number of batters in a contest.  Stepp struck out six and walked just one on the afternoon.  Stepp was so concerned with competing within the game that he didn’t know it was happening. "I didn't pay attention to it," I actually didn't know I had one going, no one said anything," said Stepp.  "I guess I realized it when everyone came running out to the mound after the last out," said Stepp.
